Hi there, my name is Michelle.
I have worked extensively treating anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, workplace stress and grief.
I always work from a trauma-informed and client-centred perspective.
I work collaboratively with clients to create a space of mutual respect where recovery and insight can develop organically.
A Little Bit About Me
I studied Psychology and fell in love with the intersection between science and human behaviour. I did 1,000s of hours of volunteer work and student hours. I prepared presentations for health professionals working with adult survivors of child abuse. I worked on crisis lines for eating Disorders with Butterfly Foundation, Lifeline and Beyond Blue. I worked in Community Mental Health in Blacktown. Each role taught me that there is so much more that unites us as people that divides us.
While each role introduced me to different people and allowed me the privilege of being part of their lives, I still held a flame for the possibility of Private Practice. I had always felt that private practice allows clients the freedom to choose the length and type of therapy they engage with, the most self-expression to describe what's helpful for them and the most autonomy about the scope, delivery and type of therapy they receive.
So, after 5 years working in Drummoyne Psychology, I decided that in order to be authentic to my own values, I need to create something that was inside of me – A lamp and a light which would allow clients the autonomy, freedom and the independence to actively choose and participate in their own recovery. On their terms, in their time.
